Product Description

Stainless steel is a category of steel which is especially resistant to corrosion, rust, and staining.This type of steel is distinguished by its chromium content which gives the metal its impressive corrosion and rust resistant qualities. Stainless steel contains a minimum of at least 10% chromium, and different kinds of stainless steel can be achieved with varying quantities of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. There is an incredible variety of stainless steel grades available, which are categorized into six different series: 100 series, 200 series, 300 series, 400 series, 500 series and 600 series. Of all the different series, the 200, 300 and 400 series are the most common. Stainless steel is graded through consideration of the environment that it will be assigned to.

Stainless steel plates, also known as flat stainless steel, are rectangular slabs of the iron ore alloy whose uniform thickness is greater than that of stainless steel sheets. Many manufacturers consider slabs with a thickness between 0.25 inches and 0.5 inches to be plates. This common stock form is occasionally used as the end product, but more typically will undergo further manufacturing processes.

Production Process
